5 February 2023 — Giving Cancer a scare
Donner la Frousse au Cancer
Giving Cancer a scare is an annual fundraising campaign to raise funds for the department of radiation oncology at the CHUM. It is an initiative of Dr. Guila Delouya and Dr. David Roberge, two CHUM radiation oncologists who want to give back to their patients. This year, in partnership with Orangetheory Fitness Griffintown, participants were invited to take on a sporting challenge for a good cause!

Support research in radiation oncology
This year, Giving Cancer a scare was inviting participants to take on the DriTri challenge, in partnership with Orangetheory Fitness Griffintown, on February 5, 2023. This challenge allowed participants to go above and beyond for the cause, while raising funds for radiation oncology. This year, over $30,000 was raised for the cause. Thank you to all of you!
It is still possible to make a donation : Make a donation here.
Thanks to donations collected since 2014, more than $360,000 has been distributed in the form of merit scholarships for research projects in radiation oncology. Several radiotherapy projects have been funded, ranging from basic research to clinical research. As part of this campaign, each donation received helps fund projects in the department in two distinct axes : improving and personalizing patient care, and research and innovation in radiation oncology.
