Tyler T Cooper
chercheur au CRCHUM et assistant professeur à l’Université de Montréal
Dr. Tyler T. Cooper’s research bridges molecular biology, proteomics, and nanotechnology to decode how extracellular vesicles (EVs) mediate communication between cells in health and disease. His laboratory at the CHUM Research Centre (CRCHUM) develops innovative multiomic approaches by combining proteomics and other ‘omics’ to define the molecular architecture and biogenesis of EVs. By improving the analytical resolution of the EV surfaceome and cargo, his team aims to identify new biomarkers and mechanistic pathways relevant to cancer progression and regenerative medicine. This multidisciplinary program integrates chemistry, bioinformatics, and machine learning to build next-generation diagnostic and therapeutic platforms for gynecological cancer.
Dr. Tyler Cooper is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Université de Montréal and a Scientist in the Cancer Axis of the CHUM Research Centre (CRCHUM). He earned his Ph.D. in Physiology and Pharmacology at Western University where he specialized in adult stem cells and regenerative medicine. He followed by postdoctoral training with Drs. Lynne-Marie Postovit and Gilles Lajoie, where he specialized in gynecological cancers, extracellular vesicles, and mass-spectrometry-based biomarker discovery. Recipient of the CIHR Postdoctoral Fellowship and the Cancer Research Society’s Next Generation Scientist Award, Dr. Cooper’s work focuses on understanding how the proteome and secretome of tumors evolve to drive cancer progression and treatment response. His laboratory emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, open-data science, and the training of the next generation of researchers at the interface of biochemistry, data science, and translational oncology.
