The Montreal Cancer Institute congratulates Francis Rodier, who won the 2019 Excellence Award – Scientific Contribution of the Year 2019 for his study Exploiting interconnected synthetic lethal interactions between PARP inhibition and cancer cell reversible senescence published last June in the prestigious journal Nature Communications . Francis Rodier is a researcher at the CRCHUM, member of the Institute and professor in the department of radiology, radiation oncology and nuclear medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal.
The research results are the result of close collaboration between her laboratory and the ovarian cancer research group led by Anne-Marie Mes-Masson and Dr. Diane Provencher. In this study , they demonstrate on cells from ovarian cancer patients the greatest therapeutic efficacy of this “hook followed by an uppercut”, based on the manipulation of the state of cellular aging.
Awarded since 2012, the CRCHUM Excellence in Research Awards are honorary awards that highlight the significant contribution of researchers to the advancement of health research.
We are proud of the accomplishments of Francis Rodier and his team!
