Cell therapy program
The Institute and the CRCHUM have identified Cell Therapy as a major priority area of research. By this approach, we can prepare anti-tumor immune cells that inhabit cancers, but are asleep.
The project
Funding of the Institute: Nearly $ 1,000,000
These anti-cancer cells are selected, and in a specialized laboratory at the CHUM, we can “wake up” and amplify these anti-cancer soldiers up to billions of cells that are then administered to patients. Thanks to the work of Dr Simon Turcotte and the major investment of the Institute and its partners, we will be able to start a clinical trial in 2021. Thus, the solution may already be in tumors!
